Tiffany Jan

Tiffany recently graduated from McGill University and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies (IDS) and Anthropology. Before moving to Montreal she lived in Taipei, Taiwan where she worked with many local and international non-profits on various development issues. There she developed her strengths in communication and interpersonal skills as well as cultural intelligence. Through the combination of the two majors, Tiffany has a strong interest in understanding the various dimensions of poverty, and wish to contribute however she can in this area.

Amr Osman Amr Osman

Amr is an Associate at Morgan Stanley. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Concordia University and a Graduate Diploma in Management and Leadership from McGill University. Before moving to Montreal he lived in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., and Cairo, Egypt. While living in Cairo, Amr volunteered in organizations that aimed at creating sustainable communities in underdeveloped cities across the country.

Imane Drissi El-Bouzaidi

Imane Drissi El-Bouzaidi holds a Masters degree from McGill University in Comparative Politics, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia in International Relations. Interning with organizations such as the United Nations, the International Development Research Centre, and Projects Abroad, she has knowledge of international development strategies and initiatives to alleviate the global issue of poverty. Her role will be to assess and recommend sustainable, income generating, community-led projects from around the world.

Annabelle Cournoyer

Annabelle is a native Montrealer and bilingual student. She studies psychology at McGill University and her current research focuses on cultural groups interaction, inequality, and discrimination. She is passionate about finding solutions to organizational and group issues. Most of all, she wishes to share her knowledge to help nonprofits and volunteers as much as she can. Her goal at EPN is to build a strong, motivated, and supportive team so that it can have an optimal impact local and international communities to alleviate poverty.

Spiro Metaxas

In 2014, Spiro completed his Bachelor of Arts at Concordia University with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy. Drawn to topics in democratic theory, human rights, and distributive justice, he continued his intellectual pursuits at McGill University, obtaining a Master’s degree in Political Science. Through his writing position at End Poverty Now, he looks forward to writing to raise awareness on pressing issues related to sustainability and poverty-alleviation.

Shannon Maroutian

Shannon Maroutian is a student at McGill University completing her degree in the Faculty of Arts. Shannon Majors in Political Science and History and plans on attending law school in Fall 2017. Born and raised in Montreal, Shannon has seen first hand the type of people affected by poverty in the city and in suburbia. Furthermore, Shannon has had a glimpse of the affects of mass poverty when she interned at the Office of the Human Rights Defender in Yerevan, Armenia. As a young writer, Shannon is enthusiastic to learn and spread valuable information on the topic of poverty both locally and abroad.

Kamakshi Renjen

Kamakshi is a student at the Desautels Faculty of Management working towards a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Social Enterprise. Before moving to Montreal, she lived in Kuwait where she developed an interest in various social issues and volunteered in organizations to give back to the community. Kamakshi aims to leverage social media platforms to support community engagement in sustainable development initiatives within Canada and around the world.  She strives to raise awareness and inspire others to get involved in contributing to social initiatives through education.

She is a third year computer engineering student at McGill from a small town called Mysore in India. She has been involved with a lot of student groups at school and volunteered with a lot of organizations back in India. She has gained experience working with different websites over the course of three years at McGill and strives to make a difference.
